PostSubject: Andy's Dorm Room   Wed Sep 14, 2011 8:59 pm

The name is Andy. I was once a judge untill some higher ups didn't like the fact i brought their misbehaviour to the light. I quit for a while but must say not much has changed. Same rules still apply and only a few new ones have come up.
There's alot to learn from the yu-gi-oh card game when it comes to mythology. My decks are mostly based around these myth's ans other interesting things. The beautifull winged siren like creatures, a creature so powerfull it was split in 5 pieces, the Gods of the North and so on.
However because of my past i'm also a fallen duelist from an old era. However duels aren't won by having the newest cards. It's by knowing how to play with the card.
So if you want to duel or just hang out here... be my guest. Either way things can be quite educational.

Alot of Yu-Gi-Oh cards are based on myths and legends. In my dorm i'm going to teach whoever wants to join about several cards. The first lesson i have isn't about a myth or a legend but a relation between old and new cards. Even though the new cards got released logical wise later then these old cards the story tells otherwise.

The (Legendary) Six Samurai

Before the Six Samurai we know as Yaichi, Kamon, Nisashi, Yuriza, Irou and Zanji there were the Legendary Six Samurai. These Legendary Six Samurai also exist in other card formes which are in the present day of the current Six Samurai. You can easily figure out which Legendary Six Samurai is now another Six Samurai card by looking at effect and stats. Here are the cards in the past and the present:

Old
New
Legendary Six Samurai - Kageki
Chamberlain of the Six Samurai
Legendary Six Samurai - Kizan
Grandmaster of the Six Samurai
Legendary Six Samurai - Mizuho
Hand of the Six Samurai
Legendary Six Samurai - Shinai
Spirit of the Six Samurai
Legendary Six Samurai - Enishi
Enishi, Shien's Chancellor
Legendary Six Samurai - Shi'en
Great Shogun Shien

Everyone of these Legendary Samurai's got a future. One even in dead...

If you want more information about this subject or found something that needs to be corrected. Then feel free to reply here.

As promised my next lesson will be about something more realistic then the fictional Six Samurai. With the war of the signers currently on this site i thought it would be interesting to give more background information on the monsters Dark Signers use:

The Earthbound Immortals

Do these lines look familliar?

For those who likes to watch anime this doesn't come as a suprise or maybe it does. Cause the lines truly exist. The Earthbound immortals are monsters who are inspired by the Nazca Lines in Peru. The lines were created around 100 before and 700 year after christ.

The most interesting about these lines is that they are all made with 1 line. Also no one knows exactly how they were made. Especially considering how big they are, how straight the lines are and the time it was made. The hummingbird is from beak to tail 135 metres long. Just to give an example of how impressive this actually is

Some people believe that the lines were made by Nazca Indians. Around the time, so 100 before and 700 year after christ, these people lived on the place where the Nazca Lines have been found. On the site there have also been pottery findings related to the Nazca Indians.

Even though i said earlier that no one knows how they were exactly made. There is some possible theory on how it was done:
1) With wooden sticks and rope line figures were made.
2) People would dig deep in the ground untill the ground gets brighter then the above layer.
3) Next to the lines stones would be placed that were found when digging. So that the lines could be seen better
4) This is just some natural happening that helped preserve the line. Because of certain micro organisms a foil like layer was put over the lines and without much rain fall in the area we can still see the lines today. Even after about 2000 years.

Now for the final part of this educational message. Here is a picture of the Nazca Lines there are still preserved:

See any other familliar lines?

I did a little research. The card already shows what these gods are about. Which you can also read in the name. Inti is a sun god while Quilla is a moon goddes, but let me explain a bit more about them.

If we look at the cards there are some interesting hidden things that are really fitting for them. Inti can be revived when Quilla is destroyed and Quilla can be revived when Inti is destroyed by battle. The most logical way to look at this is that day goes into night and night into day. However i think there is more to this. As this also shows these 2 cards have a bond. Inti and Quilla are a couple as in man and wife or brother and sister. However it's clearly there is a bond between these 2 gods.

I will add some more information later.

Hm no Inti doesn't need to be destroyed by battle,if it is destroyed by effects quilla will come too.

But anyway thanks for the information so far.^^
And i need to admit that i never remarked that the reving of each other was like day and night!

Ah yes only saw the first line lol. Will try to add some more stuff about these 2 gods and other Inca related things by the end of this week.

EDIT: Because i have it kind of busy i won't be adding anything. Unless someone really wants to know more. I've also changed a little bit in my previous text. The Inca's had different stories about the origins of the same gods. So it's sometimes a bit confusing on what to believe.
